Dev Deepawali in Kashi

Dev Deepawali — the Diwali of the Gods on Kartik Purnima — is Kashi's grandest night, when every ghat from Assi to Raj Ghat is lit with lakhs of earthen diyas and the Ganga itself seems to glow.

When

Kartik Purnima, the full moon of Kartik (usually November, about 15 days after Diwali). Confirm the exact date on this year panchang.

What happens

Over a million diyas light the ghat steps at dusk, with a grand Ganga Aarti, light shows and floating lamps. It also marks Kartik Purnima and Guru Nanak Jayanti.
